The National Trout Center is holding their annual fishing contest during Trout Days in Preston. The prize for the biggest trout is $200, $50 for second largest and $25 for third. Participants must register and pay the $10 entry fee at the National Trout Center on Friday, May 19 from 10 am-4pm or Saturday, May 20, 10am-2pm. Weight determines winner and weigh-in will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 4pm at the Center.
Also during Trout Days, make fishy crafts at the Center on Friday and Saturday, 10am-4pm. FREE! AND, Japanese Fish Painting (Gyotaku) from 11am-4pm on Saturday. Thanks to the Preston Area Art Council for partnering with us to make this happen.
The National Trout Center is a nonprofit located at 120 Saint Anthony St. S. in downtown Preston, and is open through Labor Day, Thursday – Saturday, 10am to 4pm. Admission is free. The Center includes exhibits on trout and stream ecology, a live trout aquarium, information on local stream and fishing conditions, printed maps, books and merchandise.
