This week’s continual rain episodes makes updating Current Conditions somewhat fraught with potential mistakes. That not withstanding, let’s venture forth. Fishing conditions are actually still quite good in the Preston area. The rain has been needed and it has not all come at once. Most of the smaller streams are still quite fishable and in fact the small increase in volume has been a blessing. In any watershed heavier than average rain events can cause individual streams to become unfishable, but for the most part we have missed those heavier downpours.
Caddis activity has increased with the warmer temperatures and mayfly emergence will also begin quite soon. So all in all, stream conditions look quite propitious from a trout fishing prospective.
