After what seemed like days of rain, streams around the area are in rough shape, but still fishable. as of June 22nd Mill Creek at the county road 2 Bridge in Chatfield was at 17 centimeters of visibility. This stream would be fishable if you’re using spinning tackle or hook and worm. As of June 22nd Trout Run at the bucksnort dam was at 35 centimeters of visibility. This stream is fishable in all manners of trout fishing, with the exception of dry flies. Hopefully by the weekend the water should be clear enough to use your dry flies. As of June 22nd the South Branch or the Root River was at 20 centimeters. The water on the root river was still a bit high and muddy from the recent storms. The Root River is fishable with spinners and hook and worm tackle. The weekend looks like it should be a dry one with some chances of rain early next week. water levels should drop and clear up making it a good weekend to hit the streams.
