High-resolution maps of fishing easements in southeastern Minnesota are now available for printing at the National Trout Center in Preston, MN. These maps cover the 7-county area of Minnesota that contains fishing easements on Driftless Area streams. Scaled in latitude and longitude, the start and stop locations of DNR fishing easements on private lands are marked on these maps, enabling Minnesota anglers with a GPS unit to locate access to their favorite streamside. Print-outs of the maps are available at the National Trout Center, nominally priced at $2 per map, or, $3, fully encapsulated in weatherproof plastic. The example below shows a reach of trout water on Willow Creek, accessible from Fillmore County 15 (Greenleafton Road) just outside Preston, MN.

These easement maps supplement the larger-scale trout stream maps most recently printed in DNR booklets in 2015. The latest printing of the DNR maps has apparently “sold-out” as area offices seem to have exhausted their supplies in the year of their release. The DNR still offers internet access (and downloading) of these maps at their website.
